Aashish Sonawala has been in Aviation for past 28 years holding key positions in leading global OEM and Leasing Organizations. He served 7 years as Director of Sales at GE Aerospace and then 17 years at GECAS, the world’s largest Aircraft, Helicopter (Milestone) and Engine leasing business till 2021.

He has been based in USA, India and Singapore generating over $4Bn of sale and lease back and leasing over 200 aircraft and engines.

 In 2022, Aashish joined Nordic Aviation Capital as its Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets (Asia, Pacific, Middle East, Africa and South America) covering 80% of the world’s population. He was part of the core team that successfully transformed NAC from its bankruptcy to a profitable venture resulting in a successful sale and exit.

 He has been leading global teams driving marketing, sales, contracts, restructurings and aircraft transitions to create valuable transactions through bespoke and consultative approach to find solutions that benefit all parties involved.

 Aashish also serves as one of the founding members of IFSCA’s Gift City Aircraft Leasing Committee, is member of ISTAT and has been invited as speaker at various Aviation conferences.
